Luxembourg Gardens
The Luxembourg Gardens is a garden created in 1612. The Palais du Luxembourg is the main building of the garden. Nowadays, it is the headquarters of the French Senate.
A part of the Luxembourg Gardens is dedicated to the French garden, while the other part is similar to English gardens. These two gardens are separated by the forest of Quinconces. It has a multitude of statues which can be admired by walking among the many aisles.
Exhibitions and concerts are held throughout the year.
Pont neuf
Despite its name, the Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge in Paris. This is the first bridge over the Seine in its entire width, connecting the left bank, right bank, and the tip of the Ile de la Cité.
Thanks to the semi-circular balconies above each column, you can enjoy a beautiful view over the Seine.
Pont des Arts
The Pont des Arts, also known as the gateway for the Arts, across the Seine, connects the Institute of France to the courtyard of the Louvre Palace.
The bridge is now famous for being a hotspot for couples who attach a padlock to the railing and throw the key into the river below. It also has been featured in numerous films and television shows.
French Institute
Created on 25 October 1795, the Institut de France is a French learned society grouping five academies, among these, the most famous of all, the Académie française (which deals with every matters pertaining to the French language).
You can see the building crossing the Pont des Arts.
Saint-Sulpice Church
The Roman Catholic Church Saint-Sulpice is the second largest church in Paris. Built in honor of the bishop Sulpitius the Pious (7th Century), the church has a long-standing tradition of talented organists that dates back to the eighteenth century.
You will see an impressive golden pulpit and the Lady Chapel which is an altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
